There are seven competitive winter sport teams at CA, including Boys and Girls Varsity Squash, Varsity Basketball and Varsity Alpine Skiing, along with wrestling. Each  of these teams have been  holding in-person practices twice a week as well as offering a weekly virtual option for students. Many P.E. classes, such as running, hiking concord, and campus games, have sessions on the main campus. Others, like fitness, meditation, yoga, and strength and conditioning, are fully remote and meet either before or after academic classes for forty-five minutes over Zoom.

Winter sports began on December 4th, and have provided a space for students to get exercise while de-stressing from long academic days. There have been significant changes to the winter sports program, as CA attempts to create a ‘normal’ athletics setting for its players. Many sports practices are now being held inside of the SHAC, and the Ski Team even began travelling to Wachusett Mountain to train. While all sports continue to maintain social distancing guidelines, this time has allowed students to improve their skill sets individually, while being in a supportive, and fun environment. The season will conclude on March 5th, leading CA into its final season, spring athletics. Hopefully with warmer weather, and a wider distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, students can look forward to another, exciting season.
