Fall Sports Highlights

The hard work and dedication of all Concord Academy athletes shone through on the court, field, and cross country course this fall. With a Chandler Bowl victory against Pingree and a majority of winning seasons, it was an impressive few months for CA’s teams.

Girls varsity volleyball and boys varsity soccer both had record-breaking and banner-earning seasons, winning the Eastern Independent League (EIL) and earning bids for the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournaments. While both teams were unable to advance past the semi-final round of the NEPSAC tournament, volleyball advanced past the first round for the first time in CA history, and boys soccer became the #2 seed in the tournament which has never happened before.

Cross country raced very well against their competition at the EIL and NEPSAC races. Boys varsity cross country came in fourth place out of twenty-two teams at the NEPSAC race and also in fourth place at the EIL championship, while boys junior varsity (JV) cross country placed third out of ten teams at the NEPSAC race. The girls varsity cross country team placed eighth out of twenty-two teams at the NEPSAC race and seventh at the EIL championship.

Girls varsity soccer and girls varsity field hockey both had great seasons as well. Girls varsity soccer defeated league rival Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 5-2 on October 27, and girls varsity field hockey went undefeated in non-league games.

Team members of many CA fall sports also earned distinctions for their impressive accomplishments competing. These results will be released in full in the next few weeks.

Although it is sad to see the end of the fall season, the winter season is sure to bring many more exciting games and close wins.
