One of the more popular tourist spots in downtown Concord, Main Streets Cafe has a nice vibe and good decorations. When you walk in, you are confronted with a sprawling handwritten menu on the wall. Thankfully upon being seated, a traditional paper menu is provided.

As I am sure anyone who has tried them will know, the truffle fries are one of the best appetizer options on the menu. They are light and flavorful, and it is not hard to finish a whole order without taking notice. The wings are another strong option. I would suggest getting all the wing sauces on the side so you can mix and match as you please.

In terms of entrees, I had a positive experience. The flatbreads are delicious and rich in variety, the beef stew is hearty and flavorful, and the super beef burger (which can be best described as “monstrous”) puts most burgers to shame. The dish I would not recommend was the chicken parm because the bread was a bit dry, and the chicken itself was lacking in sauce.

Though the food was very good, I found the service to be a bit lacking. The food was hot and straight from the kitchen but it took more than 25 minutes for the check to arrive. Additionally, while the prices are fair for the ample portion sizes, they are relatively expensive for a student.

All in all, Main Streets Cafe is a good choice for dinner with friends in the heart of Concord, just watch out for the chicken parm.
