Selected suggestions for changing CA’s financial aid (FA) system:

  • “Increase transparency (eg. mechanism behind determining size of grant, financial/funding situations of school, etc.), destigmatize conversations about class in school by encouraging active engagement around these topics instead of avoiding discussions.”
  • “I think maybe there could be an FA specific peer buddy system, to connect new students looking to get situated and comfortable with FA with older students who have experience utilizing those resources.”
  • “Allow students to take money out of their bookstore account more than once a year.”
