Learn about the staff who help write, edit, and publish each publication—Cozette Weng ’23
Cozette Weng is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Centipede. This is her third year with the newspaper, and she was the Science section editor previously. An accidental co-head of many clubs, Cozette is also an avid armchair historian, enjoying reading and writing essays in her free time, and a nationally ranked archer, and you can usually find her debating the merits of our global economy or running late to MUN meetings… or both.
Maia Monahan ’23
Maia Monahan is a Co-Editor in Chief of the Centipede. She is a boarder from Salem, Massachusetts and this is her fourth year working for the Centipede. Maia is a member of Varsity Volleyball, as well as a co-head of both the Writing Associates and Book Club. In her free time, she enjoys wandering around Concord, reading popular fiction and old histories, and watching various television.
John Oh ’23
John Oh is the Head Media Editor/Web Editor of the Centipede. A coincidental protege of Shihab Moral, the previous holder of the position, he spends his free time running various clubs at CA, playing League of Legends and Genshin Impact, and reading philosophers he barely understands. On rare occasions in which he is productive, he manages this very website.
Jason Mao ’24
Jason Mao is the Arts Editor at the Centipede. This is his third year working for the paper. Jason is also the co-head of Philosophy Club and Photo Club at CA. He enjoys reading, listening to music, and writing.
Daniel Xu ’25
Daniel Xu is the News Editor for The Centipede. This is his second year with the publication. In his free time, Daniel enjoys playing violin, learning about history, participating in clubs such as Model U.N., and playing tennis on the Varsity Tennis team. Outside of CA, he enjoys travelling and spending time with friends.
Irene Zheng ’24
Irene Zheng is a current junior at Concord Academy and the Photo Editor of The Centipede. In addition to her participation in The Centipede, Irene’s a cohead of the Gender Representation in Tech (GRiT) Club, Robotics Club, and Investment Club. In her free time, she enjoys practicing piano and cello, and is a current member of the Chameleon Chamber Players at CA. Outside of school, Irene enjoys playing club soccer and volunteering as a dance teacher.
Mandy Adams ’24
Mandy is a Junior, day student from Winchester, Massachusetts. She joined The Centipede her freshman year and is currently one of the Features Section Editors. Mandy also plays Varsity Soccer, races for the Varsity Alpine Ski Team, and plays competitive golf. She enjoys reading and playing with her dog Cookie in her free time.
Simon Glassenberg ’24
Simon Glassenberg is the Science and Technology Section editor and a junior day student from Wellesley, Massachusetts. This is his second year working for The Centipede. In his free time Simon enjoys photography, soccer and hiking.
Smile Jiang ’24
Smile Jiang is a junior and a Features section editor. She is also a Co-head of the Poetry Club, a Head Tour Guide, as well as a playwright involved with the What’s On Your Mind Playwriting Festival on campus. Outside of CA, Smile also reads and edits literary magazines such as The Lumiere Review, among others. She loves cannolis, the mountains, and her cat Pancakes.
Will Simon ’24
Will is the current Centipede backpage editor. This is her third year involved in the Centipede. When she’s not writing, Will can be seen running with questionable form over questionable distances. Sometimes, she applies that skill when competing on the Track or Cross-Country teams. In her free time, she likes to look into the sky and think too hard about too many things.
Isabella Ginsburg ’23
Isabella serves as the Sports Editor for The Centipede this year. A senior boarder from Hong Kong, this is her fourth year writing for the paper. Isabella is a full time Bananagrams player, part time tennis fanatic, and plays tennis and volleyball. She is also a Writing Associate, member of the Athletic Council, and member of more clubs than she can remember. She aspires to calm down but doesn’t know how. In her free time, she pets dogs.
Kelly Kong ’24
Kelly Kong is a Junior and a layout editor from Newton, Massachusetts. Outside of being a stressed out Centipede editor and a co-head of a few clubs she adores, she is a lover of good books, parakeets, documentaries, food, new musicals, and naps. She is also an avid (though somewhat unseasoned) playwright, theater techie (& occasional actor), and a potterhead.
Maya Lin ‘25
Maya Lin is a sophomore at Concord Academy and a layout editor of the Centipede. In addition to being a member of the Centipede, she is also a Co-head of the Mandarin club. In her free time, Maya enjoys photography, drawing and traveling.
Margo Buchanan ’23
Margo Buchanan is the Opinions Editor of the Centipede. She is a current senior, and this is her second year as a section editor, but third as a Centipede staff member. Margo also plays basketball, is one of the Co-Heads of the Jewish Students Organization, and is a Head Tour Guide. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, spending time outside, working out, reading, and writing.
Nick Brady ’24
Nick Brady is a junior at Concord Academy and an Assistant Web Editor for the Centipede. He plays soccer, hurdles for Track and Field, and is first violin in the Chameleon Chamber Group. In his free time he programs, works on projects around additive manufacturing, and practices violin. Nick has a dog named Wesley, whose name may or may not be inspired by The Princess Bride.

Jack Connolly is a Co-Editor-In-Chief of The Centipede from Medford, Massachusetts. This is his third year working for the Centipede. In addition to working on the Centipede, Jack also plays on the Varsity Tennis team, and enjoys cooking and creative writing in his free time.
Lisa Liu ’22
Lisa Liu is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Centipede. This is her fourth year with the paper, having been both a layout editor and a Science section editor previously. Lisa is also a co-head of Math Club, Classics Club, and Big Data Club, in addition to being a tour guide and a peer tutor. Outside of CA, she participates in math competitions and learning pure mathematics extensively.
Shihab Moral ’22
Shihab is the Head Media and Development Editor at the Centipede. Other than maintaining print and media logistical nightmares, Shihab enjoys participating in number of activities, such as Model UN, affinity groups and is the Vice Head of Boarders on campus. In his free time, he likes to read Supreme Court case summaries on Wikipedia.

Sarah Heuer is a senior, day student from Weston, Massachusetts. She joined the Centipede during her freshman year, and is currently the Features Section Editor. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, hanging out with friends and reading. She is also involved in the Prison Justice Project and Project Bread clubs on campus.

Maia Monahan is a Junior and one of the editors for the Features section of the Centipede. She has written for the Centipede since her Freshman year. She is a Captain of the JV Volleyball team, as well as one of the co-heads of Book Club.
Camden Francis ’22
Camden Francis is a News Editor for the Centipede and has served for the publication for four years. He is also the Head of the Writer’s Guild, Co-Head of the German Club, a member of the Disciplinary Task Force, a Student Alumnae/i Representative, Peer Mentor, and a Peer Tutor. In addition to academic extracurriculars, he is a two-sport varsity athlete. Outside of school, he works with the nonprofit organization he founded called Beyond the Crisis © – an organization that distributes food and resources to underprivileged children and families.

Cindy is one of the News Editors for the Centipede and a senior at Concord Academy. In her free time, Cindy enjoys painting and reading about art history.
Audrey Zhang ’22
Audrey Zhang is the Opinions Section Editor, and this is her fourth year writing for The Centipede. She is a co-head of Gender Representation in Technology conference, Medical Club, Art Club, and International Student Organization, in addition to playing Varsity Squash and Tennis. Outside of school, Audrey enjoys reading and traveling.

Cozette is the Science & Tech Section Editor for the Centipede and a junior at Concord Academy. A (happily self-proclaimed) voguish person of letters, Cozette enjoys reading, learning, and improv. And—when they’re not pouring over a screen, Cozette enjoys hanging out with her friends and staying up late to listen to the crickets chirp.

My name is Lilia Kasdon, and I am the sports section editor for the 2020-2021 school year. I’m part of the class of 2022, and I joined The Centipede this past year as a staff writer. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be the sports editor for The Centipede because I am incredibly passionate about journalism and athletics. I run cross country and track at CA, and you’ll also find me lifting weights in the gym. I am also extremely passionate about intersectional feminism and community service. I am co-head of two feminist organizations at CA; Womxn’s Org and Period Coalition (PeCo) and will be serving as a Community Action Representative for the 2020-2021 school year.

Smile Jiang is a Backpage Editor of the Centipede and a co-head of the Poetry Club. A sophomore from Shenzhen, China, Smile enjoys playing tennis, writing, and taking naps.

Tomilola Adegoke who is a senior at Concord Academy is part of the Centipede as the Layout Editor. She is a co-head of the Prison Justice Project as well as the head of the Step team on campus. Darley Boit is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Centipede, and this is her fourth year writing for the newspaper. Previously, she has edited both the Sports and Opinions sections of the paper. In addition to her participation in The Centipede, Darley is involved on campus through many activities. She is a co-head of Mock Trial, Spanish Club, and the CA Buddies system, in addition to playing Varsity Tennis. Outside of school, Darley spends most of her time with friends as well as painting and drawing.
Rylie Robinson ’21
Rylie is is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Centipede. She is a senior from Newton, Massachusetts. When she’s not working on the Centipede, she spends her time reading, writing, and dancing.
Tyler Ory ’21
Tyler Ory is the Media & Development Manager of The Centipede. He joined The Centipede as a writer during his Freshman year and took on the role of rebuilding and launching the new Centipede website his Sophomore & Junior year. When he’s not frantically reading the news, he’s throwing a football or frisbee in his backyard or “shredding the ‘gnar” on the slopes.
Amanda Shih ’21
Amanda is the News Section Editor for the Centipede and a senior at Concord Academy. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading and hiking. She is also a campus tour guide and is involved in CA’s Model UN Club.
Wendi Wang ’22
Wendi Wang is the News Editor for the Centipede and a Junior at Concord Academy. Wendi is an aficionado of music; she plays the flute, the piccolo, and the piano, and she is currently learning the bass guitar. She combines music and writing via songwriting. Wendi is also interested in economics, which she believes is the foundation of every country and our daily life.
