On February 14, 2025, Sabrina Carpenter released the long-awaited deluxe edition of her Short N’ Sweet album. Originally released in August of 2024, the album has received widespread acclaim, including receiving two Grammys in early February of this year. The deluxe edition included five new tracks, including the fan favorite “Busy Woman” and a remix of Carpenter’s hit “Please Please Please” featuring Dolly Parton. Fans around the world eagerly awaited the release of this new album.

In addition to the two previously mentioned tracks, the deluxe included three more, “15 Minutes”, “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder”, and “Bad Reviews”. The album and tracklist were announced the day after the 2025 Grammys – a fitting finale to Carpenter’s two wins. “Busy Woman” had been previously released as an exclusive digital download, so many fans were highly excited about this track. The other digital download from the Short N’ Sweet era, titled “Needless to Say”, was notably excluded from the deluxe edition. However, most thought the addition of a Dolly Parton feature more than made up for the missing track.

Overall, Short N’ Sweet Deluxe was a fitting continuation of the album as a whole. “Busy Woman” featured pop beats and witty lyrics in the style of Carpenter’s smash hit “Espresso”, while “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder” took a softer, more country-style approach. “Please Please Please” was similarly adapted to have a country twang, something Carpenter has been utilizing in her vocals and performance in recent months. She blended both on “Bad Reviews”, utilizing earlier themes of being in love but knowing it’s a bad idea.

The final piece of Short N’ Sweet deluxe was the updated music video for “Please Please

Please”. The original featured Barry Keoghan as the criminal boyfriend of Carpenter’s main character. The new version eliminates him, instead featuring Carpenter and Parton – this time as the criminals – singing the song in a pickup truck on a country road. The black-and-white video and country-style track was a fitting homage to Parton’s legendary career. So far, this has been reflected in the track and album’s commercial success. Overall, the five deluxe tracks of Short N’ Sweet were an excellent addition to the already wildly popular album.
