In March, Concord Academy admitted students for the incoming class of 2028. These prospects visited CA to experience the daily life of a student at the school to see if the community was a fit. This year, there were close to 1,000 applications from 8 countries and 18 different states. Admitted students from all over the country and the world were able to attend CA’s annual revisit days. On March 26, 29, and April 1, more than 400 people, including over 120 students, were able to show up.

As families began to appear on the CA campus, many current students welcomed and greeted them. Class Representative Adrian Shou ’27 said, “I was really excited to welcome these newly admitted students—I can’t wait to see many of them next year.”

After a brief introduction for families in the gym, incoming students had the opportunity to meet their revisit day hosts in the SHAC Atrium. As the current students arrived at the SHAC one by one, they held up a piece of paper with a newly admitted student’s name on it—earlier in the year, each student was matched with a buddy that shared common areas of interest. The hosts then brought their students to their first classes to begin a full day. Cece Gu ’27 stated, “It is heartwarming to see all the prospective students being so excited to visit the school as I was a year ago.”

Throughout the day, the incoming students were able to experience various courses taught at CA by many skilled teachers. From Freshman Biology with James Booth to Early History of Haiti with Sally Zimmerli, new students were introduced to the regular schedule of a CA student.

As the day progressed, prospective students were able to connect with their hosts and learn more about student life at CA. During lunch, many new students were introduced to the Pit, where freshmen tend to eat their meals. Although crammed, many students were able to sit together and discuss their experiences at CA, while answering questions that the admitted students had. Aleta Sandoski ’27 said, “Lunch was a great opportunity to bond with my revisit day student and introduce her to my friends while showing her around the Stu-Fac.”

At the end of the day, revisit day hosts warmly led their students back to the Chapel, where they finished their day. After 1:30 p.m., families were invited to speak with various department heads, while also having the chance to speak with coaches and other faculty members.

The admissions team worked diligently to organize these fantastic events. The community thanks Julie Wadland, Mbakwe Okafor, Melissa Browne, and many more for arranging the revisit days this year. They planned and executed a terrific day for admitted students, some of whom are sure to join CA as an official member of the class of 2028!
