Amidst busy preparations for finals in the weeks leading up to winter break, seniors were working hard to prepare for the Senior Holiday Chapel. Not only were they spending study halls practicing their acts, but these seniors also had a special rehearsal on December 15, led by senior class advisors Will Tucker and Alyse Ruiz-Selsky.
December was a month full of festivities, with various celebrations and, of course, the welcoming of 2024. Walking through Concord, the whole town was in a festive spirit, with lights adorning the windows and decorations outside the doors of many Concord households.
In the spirit of the holiday season, students enjoyed their last community dinner of the calendar year and headed to the Senior Holiday Chapel the night before boarding students departed on December 20. The dinner consisted of delicious steak, chicken, potatoes, and vegetables. There was even a dessert spread for the entire community.
The seniors gathered and took a class photo before they processed into the Chapel carrying candles. The Senior Holiday Chapel performances consisted of songs, skits, and dances. Other than these acts, there was also the annual performance of Jingle Bell Rock by the Boarding Council that has been passed down over the years.
The stand-out act of the night was by Ben Lee ’24 and Ishaan Jain ’24 who performed the hit song “Breaking Free.” Simultaneously, the seniors gleefully waved their candles back and forth in support of their classmates.
After an eventful night, seniors headed back to the Stu-Fac for desserts with Henry Fairfax, while the rest of the boarders headed back to their houses for the night. The Senior Holiday Chapel celebrated all the talent, hard work, and dedication of the CA seniors, and marked a beautiful end to the first semester. After a restful break, the community can now look forward to many more senior traditions to come in the spring semester!
