Whether offering help or simply being there as someone to talk to, Akira Trivisvavet ’25 has always been a source of support for those in her community. Now, as the head of house for Wheeler, she has taken on the role of being a ‘mom’ to many boarding students.

Akira is a boarding student from Bangkok, Thailand. When Akira came for a tour at Concord Academy, she quickly fell in love with the town of Concord. Its quiet, small-town charm and variety of shops captivated her and played a major factor in her decision to come to CA. Her family’s connection with the school also played a significant role. Her father is an alum, and her sister, Valika Trivisvavet ’24, recently graduated. Both of their positive experiences at CA deepened her sense of belonging within the community.

When Akira first arrived at CA, she felt scared and homesick. However, she quickly overcame those emotions and found her own circle of friends. She explained, “My peer buddy—who also served as my head of house—made me homemade food and helped me adjust to this new environment.” Inspired by that kindness, Akira always bakes goodies in the dorm for everyone to enjoy. For her, baking is more than just a hobby—it is a way to share the food she loves and give others the chance to try them. Through her baking, she hopes to spread joy and express love to those around her.

In addition to her love for baking, Akira is involved in various other activities. She is the co-head for Medical Club and Asian Cuisine Club, and plays the clarinet in the Chameleon Chamber Music Ensemble. She is also a member of the Girls’ Varsity Squash team. Finally, she is a member of the Boarding Council, which is one of her favorite communities at CA. To her, the boarding community is like a second home. She frequently misses their close-knit nature whenever she goes home.

With regard to her love of the town, Akira shared that one of her favorite Concord spots is Haute Coffee. She enjoys hanging out there with friends and studying. She also shared that her favorite location on campus is the area behind the chapel because of its peacefulness and view. She is fond of the cherry blossom tree in front of the MAC, too, explaining that walking past it brightens her day during the spring.

After almost four years at CA, Akira reflected with gratitude on her time here. Through her experience, she believes that she has gained valuable skills and knowledge that will help her navigate the challenges of the real world. Looking forward, Akira hopes to major in environmental engineering in college. She is particularly drawn to renewable energy and wants to play an active role in Thailand’s efforts to develop innovative technologies that address pressing environmental issues. Akira believes that her time at CA has helped her become more mature and better prepared to take on new responsibilities as she approaches the next chapter of her life.
